Over the past few weeks and months I’ve been slowly converting some of our smaller, less established, blogs from Wordpress to MovableType Open Source. At the time, everything seemed to go fine for the most part, but I’m now discovering that the formatting is a little funky on many of the blog posts.
The problem has to do with the fact that Wordpress converts line breaks to HTML line break tags on the fly, where Movable Type Open Source does it differently (not sure how to describe it). It is possible to tell MoveableType to convert the line breaks upon import, but of course I missed that option on most of the imports. Doh!
I think I’m almost done having to go back and manually convert them, and I’m glad its over with. Its not a very pleasant or fulfilling task.
