Move over too big to fail, here's a website that's seemingly too profitable to be out of order!
I noticed when my Movable Type publishing process started reporting "Could not find mt.xml in /usr/lib/cgi-bin/movabletype/". Huh? Investigations turned up nothing, so I created an empty mt.xml file in /usr/lib/cgi-bin/movabletype/ and then I got this error: "Ran out of memory for input buffer".
Strange. Not much had changed on my server since earlier this day, so then I tried excluding certain parts of the template which was causing problems (a reliable troubleshooting method) and narrowed it down to the Amazon Product Advertising API plugin I wrote.
When I exclude that, everything works fine. Doing some searches on Amazon outages reports that Amazon is apparently having some IT issues. Doh!
I hope that their general IT services like S3 and CloudFront are OK! I just tried s3cmd and everything seems to be in working order...
