Google's Superbowl Ad
Google ran its first ever Superbowl ad last night and I thought it was awesome. It reflected what I think is its greatest characteristic: its simplicity. The ad featured the Google homepage with a used entering in searches, evolving through a love story. Nice theme!
Its incredibly rare when something so simple comes along that is so unbelievably useful and powerful.
From a business perspective, it could be risky to have such a concentrated business model. And from time-to-time, I get the impression that Google feels that too, and it keeps trying to diversify, beyond its modus-operandi of insulating itself against competition.
