Google, Murdoch, and Microsoft

Google and Rupert Murdoch are in the news about the news. Murdoch, the CEO of News Corp, has been publicly complaining about Google's news.google.com site.

I've written about Murdoch's public complaints before, saying its not too difficult to exclude content from Google's index. I guess it was still too difficult for News Corp., and Google has made it even easier for news sites to remove their content. Question is, will News Corp de-list their content?

Microsoft is also in the news, but then again, they are pretty much always in the news. What is it this time? I just read an article at the Washington Post about Microsoft using Silverlight to power Bing's map features. I agree with the author that web standards are better than proprietary formats. Even SWF is better than Silverlight, in my opinion, thanks to Gnash.
