Here comes my public service announcement for the holiday shopping season. I didn't think it was necessary, but after a Wal-Mart worker in Arkansas was killed in a "stampede" to open the store; it becomes apparent that it can't go unsaid.Ladies, Gentlemen, and Children please slow down. Slow down, take a deep breath , and let go. Let go of that perfect gift that you have to give. Let go of that perfect gift that you have to get. Go home, sit with your family on that rare Friday off, and enjoy the extra day to share. Watch a movie, play board games. Sit in different rooms and simply share in one another's presence.Think simpler. Think quieter. Rest, because you deserve a real day off.
That is really so sad, such a random accident. Who would have thought that could happen? I don't feel comfortable in crowds for exactly this reason - things can get out of control too easily.
