So far, K2 has impressed me. A few thoughts though:
- I couldn't get the image cropper to work at all.
- I'll likely patch the code so that the header images are different for each site using the theme.
UPDATE November 11, 2007: Today, while at getting my oil changed at Jiffy Lube, I tried accessing some K2-powered sites with my Nokia 800 internet tablet, and while the pages rendered OK, the links did not work.
I'll look into that and see if I can't fix it myself.
UPDATE November 16, 2007: Also noticed that if I create a comment, it works fine, but then appears to refresh, but it hangs and blanks out. Definitely need to fix that!
UPDATE 3 November 20, 2007: I'm not how I feel about the advanced navigation tools in K2. I at first liked the rolling archives thing, but now it seems a little intrusive to the general feel of the blog. I tried turning it off, but that messed up the nice search function.
There are a few items I really like about K2 though: the custom header (though I changed the code to look elsewhere for the images), the styles, though I don't use them yet, and a few small subtle changes, like some of the additional meta tags it adds. I might be able to add some quality feedback to the fine folks who created K2 soon. :-)
Additional note about the advanced navigation stuff - with the right caching setup, I actually think that turning this off makes the sites perform faster. Might just be my perception though.
