I noticed today that if you upload a picture with the same filename as an image that is already on the server, it will overwrite the existing version. That's bad!
Really? I tried overwriting a previous picture in my wordpress blog by doing that, and it automatically added a 1 to the end of the image. I tried doing it again, and it added another 1.
So I had:
image.jpg
image1.jpg
and image11.jpg
I wonder if it has something to do with the skin I'm using it's not the default, so it may be programmed in there somewhere.
I think the overwrite protection only works within one blog. Since our numerous blogs share the same upload directory, they will overwrite files uploaded to a different blog.
